This fall, Tanya and I have gone on a theatre spree! Last night we went to Door Shakespeare, and laughed our butts off! (You’ll get the reference if you see the show).  There are few opportunities left to catch this show, but if you can get there – go. It is very funny. You don’t need to know anything about William Shakespeare’s 37 plays to get the humor and the actors are wonderfully crazy. Bernie – you should have come!

A few weeks ago, Bernie and Desiree joined us at AFT’s Guys on Ice. As the show started I realized that Desiree, who is from China, had no idea what ice fishing was! Tanya had a vague idea, but Desiree none. I gave her an abbreviated description (the show had started and I was trying to be quiet) – so she also had a vague idea of the premise for the show. On our way home, we were talking about the jokes and asked Tanya and Desiree if they “got” them. Some – but they said they laughed when everyone else in the audience laughed. When in Rome…

Tanya, Bernie and I also saw Gods of Carnage at Peninsula Players in early September. Also a good show. Unfortunately, early September seems like months ago and by the end of the season my memory is suspect, but – great acting, the theatre is amazing and we all enjoyed the show.

I don’t know if we can get to AFT’s Spitfire Grill before their run ends this weekend, but I hope so. Door County is full of theatre options this fall – and we’ve really enjoyed the experiences. But Bernie, you really should have come to Shakespeare with us!
