Linda Bodenner

Today is Linda Bodenner’s last day at Main Street Market. She has been a big part of our store family, and it is with great sadness that we say goodbye. Linda is moving to North Carolina to be near her kids; Debbie and her family will live a couple of blocks away and Bradley and his wife live in Georgia.

Linda has been our bakery manager – calm, cool and a mother figure to many of the “kids” who have worked in her department. She has taught them many things besides how to work – and leaves a staff that will very ably carry on the bakery department.

Good luck to you Linda – we will miss you. (And I am not taking your picture off the website!)

Sam and Regan – 1994 and 2012

Back in 1994 – 18 years ago! – Sam and Regan jumped up on our straw bales and pretended to be the Pumpkin Patch Display. It is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them.

At dinner last night, Missy suggested they reenact the Pumpkin Patch Display from 18 years ago. Steve, Regan and I all thought it was a very good idea – not so much Sam. He said he didn’t have any short pants!

However, this morning they went outside and stuck their tongues out for the camera. I think they were cuter then!

The Angry Birds have landed on their targets!

And here are the pigs!

Main Street Market’s  Pumpkin Patch display theme is “Chuckin Pumpkins – Angry Birds Style”. Jeanne and Maryna  created the angry birds and the pigs – aren’t they cute! And realistic! Note the snouts (coffee cup lids) and hair (ribbon). The sling shot came from Dave; he carved it out of a tree. Jeanne and Dave set up the display Friday morning – the judging is this afternoon. Wish us luck!

Happy Pumpkin Patch! Wear your long johns – no matter what the temperature outside, an Oktoberfest beer and a brat taste delicious!

The Angry Birds have landed on the lawn at Main Street Market for Egg Harbor’s Pumpkin Patch Festival! One is loaded, the rest are awaiting their turn to demolish the pigs that are across the bales!

Sarah and Sam at Alefest

Egg Harbor’s Alefest last Saturday was a very fun day! Sunshine, blue skies – a beautiful fall day. The Alefest was very well-organized and Harborview Park and the amazing views of the marina beyond were a great backdrop to the excellent selection of beers on tap.

The majority of our favorite beer salesmen, reps and the owners themselves were on hand to sample out the fine craft beers they create and sell. It is a very cool group of people making beer in this state – young, creative and really, really into their craft! The results are in the brews – and Egg Harbor’s inaugural Alefest was one festival worth repeating!

Oh, by the way – almost every one of the beers sampled at the festival are available to purchase at Main Street Market! Prost!
